LOS ANGELES-BASED STARTUP ANNOUNCES NEW STREAMING PLATFORM FOR SOCIAL IMPACT
Los Angeles, CA - February 21, 2019 – A Show For A Change, a socially conscious entertainment startup company, today announced that it will host an invitation-only launch event on Thursday, March 7th to celebrate its new streaming platform for social impact, movikarma. A unique, first of its kind streaming service, movikarma will transform entertainment into action, empowering audiences to support charities and content creators connected to the films and series they watch. Free from distracting ads and banners, movikarma will partner with leading influencers, non-profits, and brands to tell socially conscious stories and increase their social impact.
Confirmed attendees include actors Kiana Madani (star of THE PIRATES OF SOMALIA, opposite Al Pacino and Evan Peters) and Dasha German, Emmy-winning producer and bestselling author Brian Johnson (who has worked alongside Ariana Grande, John Legend, and many others), Oscar-nominated director Bryan Buckley (THE PIRATES OF SOMALIA, ASSAD), two-time NAACP nominee Angell Conwell (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, ROSEWOOD), award-winning actor/producer Said Faraj (GREEN ZONE, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS), award-winning actor Kash Hovey, influencer Sam Greisman ( (son of actor Sally Field), actor Dasha German, influencer Jean Nasser, Levenbirds (rising pop-rock band in Los Angeles), and more to be announced. The Gail McKay Foundation (co-founded by award-winning actor Trevante Rhodes, star of BIRD BOX and MOONLIGHT) will also attend.
Kobe Bryant and Drew Brees will make a special video appearance in support of A Show For A Change’s premier non-profit partner, The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). Athletes Jeremy Poincenot and Megan Blunk will deliver live remarks.
In addition to appearances by numerous special guests, this invitation-only event will feature a red carpet, press availability, and exclusive demo of the movikarma platform. Hosted at WeWork in Century City, guests will also enjoy light refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and discounted opportunities to join the WeWork community of innovators at we.co/movikarma.
